I'm sure more than one person any information that I will expose 
ra then will seem science fiction. So it seemed to me as I too listened rapt.
However, all the information I discuss here has the highest reliability, it is taken from a BBC documentary that gave La 2 on Saturday under the "The theme night." The documentary titled "Parallel Universes" and can be watched here (in five parts) from the links at the bottom of this post.
The alleged existence of parallel universes has a place within a theory wide, called M-theory
M theory or theory of the membrane has been proposed recently, while almost has not yet begun to discuss the scientific community. Try to explain the origin of the universe and explain everything that happens in it.
Until recently it was thought that the universe had been originated from a single Big Bang, a big bang from which everything was created. It is also believed that all objects were composed of particles, and there was only one universe.
M theory would ruin, if confirmed, all these beliefs.
First, there would be a single universe, but infinite. That is, instead of speaking of the universe would speak of the Multiverse.
As for the origin of the universe we inhabit, it would have been caused in the collision of two pre-existing universes. The shock would have been similar to that of two steel plates to move toward each other with waves in each of them. Because of these waves, there would be a single shock or Big Bang, but many in succession.
Moreover, the objects that we know would not be made up of particles, but strings (the electron is not really a point, but a rope in a loop)
Another innovation would be that the universe we know would have no 3-dimensional , even the four that Einstein proposed to include the time. Would have 12 dimensions, including time.
As I said, there would be only one universe, ours, but we should speak of countless universes, each guided by different physical laws.

- Others may have civilizations like ours.
- And if the number of universes is infinite, it is assumed that there might be a universe, or more than one, identical to ours in which McCain, not Obama, had won the American elections. Would universes in which we ourselves exist (well, maybe it would be more accurate to say that there would be beings identical to us). Who knows, maybe one universe is exactly like ours but humans there are no problems and live in Utopia, in a happy world.
Finally, the theory is a kind of manual of instructions for creating a universe. That is, perhaps we were in a position ourselves to create a universe in the laboratory. If confirmed, this theory
M, philosophical and theological implications are quite unpredictable. Other scientific theories that have been revolutionary for human thought, as the theory of Darwinian evolution would be child's play next to the ideological revolution that would confirm this theory. It would be a totally new way of conceiving the universe.
